Celebrating new music in York
York Late Music presents a series of concerts in York featuring an extensive selection of 20th and 21st century music, including many new works.
Concerts are normally on the first Saturday of each month from September to December 2022, and February to June 2023.
Lunchtime Concerts
1pm to 2pm Saturday
Tickets just £5 online or on the door
Evening concerts
7.30pm to 9.30pm Saturday
Tickets £12/£10 online or on the door
(£5 for students)
Cancelled Concert
The lunchtime concert on 3 June 2023 (Stuart O’Hara and Marianna Cortesi) has had to be cancelled. We hope to reschedule it for the next season.

In a series of podcasts on our “Listen” page, composer Hayley Jenkins interviews Late Music performers and fellow composers about pieces performed at this season’s Late Music concerts. Today, Hayley chats with composer David Lancaster who curated the previous Late Music evening concert, New Matrix: A Tribute to Sir Harrison Birtwistle. David discusses his relationship with the composer, as well as his work on the opera The Mask of Orpheus.

Parking
Parking in St. Saviourgate itself is for local residents or for up-to-10 minute stays. The nearest public car parks are: the Shambles, Monk Bar, or Castle. For lunchtime recitals Sainsbury’s car park is convenient (but note the terms).
If coming from outside York you may prefer to use the Park & Ride services. Numbers 8 & 9 stop nearest the Chapel in Stonebow or Peaseholm Green, but any Park & Ride will get you into the City Centre.
