Description
Late Music Ensemble explores how composers have responded to art, from Mussorgsky to the present day. The programme includes a new arrangement of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, Stravinsky’s little-known miniature tribute to Pablo Picasso (in a variety of different versions), songs by Don van Vliet (better known as Captain Beefheart) and David Byrne, and new works responding to the art of Bridget Riley, John Martin, Sophie Taeuber-Arp and others.
