Based in York, Amanda Crawley enjoys a flourishing singing and teaching career, COVID notwithstanding, giving recitals and and voice workshops. Her repertoire ranges across all eras and genres, never happier than when discovering and performing songs outside the canon. A keen advocate of contemporary music, she has both commissioned and given first performances of many new works over the years.
Having taught at York University for many years she currently teaches at Leeds University Music Department and York College, as the Music Theatre vocal tutor, alongside her private practise. Amanda directs three choirs, two of which she founded.
She works regularly with Jo Peach and Edwina Smith as the Fairfax Ensemble, presenting varied and sometimes little-known works
