The Lapins take their name from one of their first commissions by David Lancaster, Au Lapin Agile, an art house Parisienne café which was a frequent haunt of artists and musicians.
This dynamic and creative trio presents a refreshing experience of music, drawing from the Renaissance through to the 21st Century. The musicians seek to blur the lines of the familiar, as a surreal artist might do, performing their bespoke programmes through imaginative use of imagery, words, space and place.
In 2022, The Lapins performed as part of the Sundays@Six music series, tucked away in a remote church on the northern fringes of Dartmoor (power cuts included). They made an intrepid tour of West Cork where the narrative was centred on the nautical and their summer, 2022 was launched with a sold out performance, in the boathouse in Burnham Overy, North Norfolk.
The trio is looking forward to sail into York, in early 2023, to engage with the ancestors of another nautical dynasty, The Vikings!
